Laboratory for micro combined heat and power units

_

Teaching

The laboratory is embedded in the Institute IKME:

http://www.ikme.wp.hs-hannover.de

In the laboratory, technical understanding of complex heat generators and transmission systems must be taught to the students. Examples are used to illustrate function, techniques and differences in efficiency.

Focus points of work

  • Further development of micro combined heat and power units for building and vehicle applications
  • Inspection, evaluation and further development of individual components
  • Investigation of combined heat, power and cooling systems

Equipment

Investigation of micro-CHP units with different mechanical ratings:

  • 0.8 kW air-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine
  • 1 kW air-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine
  • 2.5 kW air-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine
  • 4 kW air-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine
  • 15 kW air/liquid-cooled 4-stroke petrol engine
